For on of our clients located in the east part of Rotterdam, we are looking for a Reporting & Compliance Officer. International player within the commodity and raw material market. This organization is the link between leading product manufacturers and industrial processors. They supply high-quality products and provide both their customers and suppliers with valuable information about the market. Their focus segments are Coatings, Adhesives, Thermoplastics and Waxes. Professional role: 

  • Participates in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans;
  • Supports in the preparation of monthly company and consolidated reports;
  • Preparation of the annual consolidated and company financial statements for several legal entities (NL, UK, Germany);
  • Maintaining Stat to GAAP reconciliations;
  • Ensure appropriate application of financial reporting standards including implementing changes in these standards;
  • Developing financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures;
  • Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies;
  • Responsible to manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements;
  • Responsible for compliance of tax filings (VAT, Intra Community Acquisition/Supply, Corporate income tax, etc.);
  • Responsible for communicating financial metrics and relevant topics to management;
  • Supports adherence to other regulatory requirements e.g. GDPR/Wwft/CSR.

Commercial role:

  • Adding value on a daily basis to the business by collecting ideas and proactively applying process improvements;
  • Involvement in periodic negotiation process of insurance portfolio.

Team role:

  • Is part of and works closely together with all members of the finance team;
  • Contributes to the cooperation and the goal setting within other teams he/she participates in;
  • Supports in solving adhoc questions from the finance team or other departments.

Lead role:

  • Responsible for compilation of financial reports;
  • Proactively providing support to the Finance team as well as other departments with regard to financial reporting and other legal reporting requirements;
  • Actively contributing to developing and coordinating internal trainings to continuously improve awareness and compliance.

Profile: 

  • Bachelor or Master degree;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in accountancy or compliance related positions;
  • Willing to work in an international environment;
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a nice to have.
