For one of our clients in the Utrecht area we are looking for an ambitious Financial Controller. The company is a large international player in the pharmaceutical market. Tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Manage preparation and publishing of financial statements;
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;
  • Manage and comply with applicable reporting requirements and tax filings;
  • Ensure business processes are documented to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
  • Coordinate external audits and provide deliverables to audit team;
  • Manage Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition;
  • Lead and develop the local accounting team;
  • Ensure correct monthly delivery of results;
  • Communication regarding bank affairs with all involved stakeholders intern and extern;
  • Submission of statistics (CBS, etc.) reports where relevant;
  • Additional controller duties as required.

Profile:

  • A higher education or Bachelor degree within the area of Finance;
  • Proven 5+ years working experience as a (Financial) Controller, auditor preferably in an international organization;
  • Passion for process improvement and challenging the status quo;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and to develop less experienced team members;
  • Ability to structure and organize effectively and deliver to deadlines;
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
  • Experience with creating financial statements;
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process;
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills;
  • Impressive attention to detail and accuracy while keeping the big picture;
  • Inquisitive / Intellectual curiosity.

Salary up to EUR 80,000 gross
